To protect the health and safety of our staff and office visitors Johnson & Borenstein has implemented additional practices and policies consistent with the recommendations of the CDC and Governor Baker’s Orders.  Our policy for visitors to our physical office is as follows:

  1. The only in-person visits to our office permitted are those consistent with Governor Baker’s Covid-19 Order #13 issued on March 23rd, including the exceptions for Essential Services.At this time, that primarily includes real estate transaction closings that require in-person attendance.

  2. Office visits must be scheduled 24 hours in advance.  When scheduling the visit, the staff member must confirm with the visitor that the visitor, has not had a fever within the last 24 hours; in not under quarantine; has not tested positive for Covid-19; and does not have reason to believe they have come into close contact with someone believed to have Covid-19 within the last 14 days.  A copy of our Office Visitor Protocol should be provided by e-mail upon scheduling of the visit. 

  3. At the time of a scheduled visit, the visitor should park in our office parking lot, accessed via the driveway located to the left side of our offices at 12 Chestnut St., Andover, MA.

  4. Upon arrival in the parking lot, the visitor should call the paralegal or attorney they are meeting with, or our reception desk at 978-475-4488, to let us know that they have arrived.

  5. The garage door adjacent to the parking lot will be opened by the staff member, visitor enters through the garage door.  The garage door button is on the left of the conference room door just inside the garage.

  6. Visitor proceeds to the conference room door, to the right at the rear of the garage area, and lets themselves into the conference room.  There are signs on site directing the visitor to the conference room.

  7. Our staff person will be waiting for the visitor in the conference room.  The staff person should use the gloves provided, one pair per person per day.

  8. Once in the conference room visitors should be welcomed, made to feel at ease and asked to:

    • use the disinfectant hand gel provided;

    • maintain social distance by sitting at the end of the conference table;

    • exchange documents by using the basket provided, not direct hand to hand passing; and

    • at the completion of you’re the visit to place any of our pens used during the visit in the labeled bin, and be sure to use the hand gel on their way out.

  9.  After the visitor leaves, the staff person who conducts the closing must, wipe down the conference room table and inside and outside door handles; close the garage door; lock the conference room door.

Please note that during the visit we will not be able to provide our usual conveniences, including access to restrooms, beverages, etc.
